Hi Sixth Grade Families!
In sixth grade we collect Box Tops. While you can still find some labels to clip, Box Tops is changing and going digital. We hope that you will still collect for us. Simply go online and download the Box Tops 4 Education app from the Apple Store or Google Play and select Pinewood Middle School. Use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipts for participating products. Box Tops are still worth 10 cents each for your school. The app will find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add the cash to our school’s earnings. We have a goal of collecting 10,000 labels this year either clipped or digital. That would be $1000 to spend on school field trips and supplies! Please send in your clipped labels with your student to turn into Mr Kaz. We know this is a big change to the Box Tops fundraiser and hope that you will continue to support the program to help us reach our goal. Conference note filled out by a parent or guardian if not already completed and returned Monday to 1st hour teacher as soon as possible. Math - no new math homework only late work (completed NWEA testing all week) Social Studies - finish Latitude and Longitude Notes and read notes to an adult to review for quiz next week. Science - no homework (group presentations next week) ELA - reach your weekly reading goal We ended the week with a mini unit focused on GRIT. We discussed GRIT, a growth mindset vs. fixed mindset and to wrap it up we showed the movie When the Game Stands Tall. Students were challenged throughout the movie to take notice of how characters showed GRIT through the hardships they faced. We ended the day with a challenging marble activity that required students to have GRIT but more importantly to encourage others. Its been a great week in 6th grade at Pinewood! Proud to be a Panther! |
